We are constantly on the look out for new talent. Canada produces some exceptional young riders, still, there is no systematic development pathway to get large numbers of kids involved in the cycling. In response, the BTG Fund created a youth cycling grant program to seed and develop youth cycling clubs, events or programs across Canada.

The BTG Youth Cycling seeding program is for Canadian youth endurance cycling programs dedicated to growing the sport of bike racing. Clubs, programs or events applying to this program are intending to grow to be financially self-sustaining and follow the principles of Cycling Canada’s Long-term Athlete Development plan.  BTG’s emphasis is on developing multi-discipline endurance bike racers and for successful applicants to utilize their surrounding community for support of amateur sport. Coaching grants are intended to “Bridge the Gap” between the time a program commits to a sustainable model and the time they achieve their model (two-year limit).

BTG’s preference is for these grants to be used to hire coaches. We will consider funding to junior programs, if the program also includes early stage kids and has a well designed program flow into junior and subsequently U23 activity.
