We add value to our athlete grants in 3 ways:
mentoring athletes • funding projects • consulting with teams & coaches
Mentorship
Karol Ann Canuel
Mentor Program Lead
“No athlete makes it alone, and mentorship can play a big role in accelerating development. Stepping into the role of mentoring and leading the program is my opportunity to give back to the next generation of riders and to reflect on my own journey through the sport.”
Mentoring supports up to 40 athletes a year. 100% of athletes in our mentoring program find it valuable, with 75% finding it highly valuable.
Many athletes who benefited from BTG’s support and mentorship from the board directors have become mentors themselves. Currently, there are 19 active mentors – with more ready to step in and help. Meet the mentors →
“We have incredibly accomplished mentors willing to share a wealth of experience. They understand the challenges to succeed in the sport – because they have been there. My goal is to create connections across our community and transfer as much of that knowledge to our young riders – setting them up to succeed.”

Special Projects
We supported World Championship projects in 2015, 2016 & 2018. We collaborate with trade teams, Canada’s top coaches, innovative organizations like B2-Ten and the Hamilton Foundation on experiences & education to help Canada’s most promising athletes navigate the journey to pro.
We produce & support unique projects - with innovative partners
Team Consulting
We mentor Canadian teams - leadership & coaching staff
“Kevin and Andrew helped us develop a multi-year plan and organizational structure. They’ve helped with marketing, identification and recruitment of athletes and staff. The management of Silber Pro Cycling has been mentored in part by GRBTG, and in turn we’ve provided a racing program dedicated to the growth of cycling in Canada.”
Scott McFarlane
Team Owner & General Manager, Silber Pro Cycling
